Fury Lacrosse (Female Lacrosse Association) - Call for coaches!
2019 will be the inaugural season for Fury Lacrosse in Calgary and area. This is an exciting new direction for female box lacrosse that is focused on attracting new players to the game as well as an opportunity for continued growth amongst existing players.
We would love it if you would help us ensure the program's success and are currently seeking coaches for both the competitive and development divisions. Peewee through Midget will have both a competitive and development stream, whereas the novice division will be focused strictly on development.
With this new program we are looking to enhance the level of coaching provided to female athletes. There are certainly nuances to coaching both genders and we encourage coaches both experienced and new to consider becoming involved. Fury Lacrosse's coaching philosophy will be strongly routed in growth through skill development leading to the mastery of lacrosse skills and a focus on progress of all our athletes.
All female teams in Alberta are required to have a certified female coach on the bench and female only courses are available through the CDLA to complete certification.
We have a strong interest in developing coaching teams that may include experienced coaches from the male or female program along with former female players and/or aspiring female coaches. We will also attempt to limit the number of parent coaches at the competitive level wherever possible.
