Hi Fury Families,
Unfortunately, Alberta Health Services has issued restrictions on recreation activities for Calgary youth in grades 7 to 12. Effective Monday, April 19th, Calgary youth in grades 7 to 12 cannot participate in indoor recreation activities. These restrictions will remain in place until in-person learning resumes. While we do have a fair amount of players living in surrounding areas a majority of our players reside in Calgary and therefore we will adhere to the new restrictions for all of our 14U and 16U players.
These restrictions do not effect our 10U and 12U teams. New practices were loaded into most teams schedules today. We are still finalizing availability with Acadia and once we have confirmation, one way or the other, practices will be loaded for our South teams. All 14U and 16U teams will practice outdoors (weather permitting) for the duration of the new restrictions. We will be working directly with the coaches of these teams to find outdoor practice options.
We understand how frustrating these changes are to our players, parents and coaches...we truly do!! But please know, we are absolutely committed to providing the best possible lacrosse season for all concerned and we will continue to work towards eventual game play situations for our players.
